Facial Hair Experiment

No more itch

Hobby Cosmology #4.1

So I thought I would further explain my madness. If (as Einstein theorized) every moment that has ever been and ever will be exists the same as this instant, then it should be possible to travel to those other moments the same way you travel to San Francisco or New York. The only thing limiting us from making this passage is technology, the same way our current technological development prevents us from traveling to say Alpha Centauri. Science fiction describes ways in which this travel might be achieved, wormholes, relativistic acceleration, thought projection, etc.

If as I theorize, there is nothing but this moment, then you can eliminate time travel as a possibility. Even if you could devise a way to reverse entropy and enclose yourself in a bubble that shielded you from the effects of the reversal, time travel into the past would just be an illusion because there is still only this moment.

Hobby Cosmology #4

Most people think of time as another dimension, all moments in the past and future just points on a coordinate system. What if this is fundamentally wrong? What if there is no past and no future, only this very instant? Only the position of matter and energy in our brain creates the illusion of a past or future? Obviously this would eliminate the possibility of time travel or of knowing the future, but it would also mean that relativistic time dilation is not real either, only that the perception of time has changed. If you travel at relativistic speeds away from the earth and then return, have you really aged slower than the people you left behind, or is it just that the nature of the matter and energy that you are made of been affected by high speed travel?
